In honor of Black History Month Women in Film will present a panel discussion on the African-American experience working in Hollywood on Feb. 28 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Actor Holly Robinson Peete will moderate the panel, which includes television creator-producer Mara Brock Akil, film producer Stephanie Allain, director-actor-choreographer-producer Debbie Allen, television and film producer Debra Martin Chase, and producer-writer-director Angela Robinson.
Discussion topics will include the panelists' careers, what motivates and drives them, the obstacles and issues they've faced as black women in Hollywood, and their hopes for future African-American filmmakers and performers.
Registration for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and discussion from 8-10 a.m. Cost is $65. RSVP must be received no later than Feb. 26. Payment will not be accepted at the door. For more information or to RSVP, visit www.wif.org.
