Valerie Landsburg grew up in the world of show business - her parents were showbiz people, and she lived in Beverly Hills, Hollywood. At school, she admits, the only class she attended seriously was drama! And, except for an interlude when she was fascinated by the study of psychology at college, she has worked in show business all her life. A successful actress, Valerie has played many roles on television and in films, as well as touring with plays and shows - and she also has a great interest in producing shows.

In Fame, Valerie plays bubbly Doris Schwartz, the drama student with a gift for comedy who really wants to be a dramatic and beautiful Hollywood star, but who realises that deep down she really isn't cut out for it. Still, Doris keeps trying to achieve her aim, despite all the setbacks, and if she's anything like Valerie, she'll certainly get there!
