You'll Be Glad To Know This Warm And Talented TV Newcomer - Start Right Here!
By now Carlo Imperato is well known to you. He plays the, wise-cracking Danny, Amatulo on Fame, that happy dancing, musical TV show that grew out-of the blockbuster movie of the same name. Danny is an aspiring comedian, so it's Carlo's job to provide a lot of the jokes and antics on the show, but in real life, Carlo has no dreams of being a comedian. In fact, he's really quite a calm, cool, collected and mighty romantic fella when he's away from the cameras!
Carlo was born on August 8, 1963 in the Bronx, New York, in a not-very-typical small Italian family-there was just mom Leah, dad Richard, and sister Lisa, (and, of course, their German shepherd, Major) sharing his apartment just across the river from New York City. And Carlo doesn't look typically Italian either, with his, blond hair and blue eyes. But inside this 5'8", 140 lb. doll he has all that characteristic Italian warmth and charm just waiting to be showered on anyone who comes close to him.
In fact, that's probably part of the reason Carlo always wanted to getinto showbiz. Since his first play called Runaways (he was 13) which ended up on Broadway, right up to his first big TV role in Fame, Carlo has been endearing his audiences. And he plans to keep on doing just that and maybe even write and produce for his fans too.
It should come as no surprise that Carlo loves Italian food and hanging out with friends, going dancing or partying, and of course, he's into all sports (especially basketball). His favorite color is the deep, warm shade of purple and the actors he admires most are those macho-talented types Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and Charles Bronson.
